Tons o' fun over on
lehumanbeing.blogspot.com. Go!
These are some celly shots from
Interbike 2011. Apologies for blurs, low light, color shifts, and all that associated with forgetting the camera in my room. I rolled up there with the homies
Swank,
Gloze, and
Modem (thanks!) and generally nerded out on random bike stuff. I was involved with the
ARTCRANK exhibit as well, so I had a "professional" reason to be out there, but mostly it was the free beer and games of CougarLicious that dragged me to Nevada.
Viva Gloze Vegas!

Our artist roster for this show features talent from across the U.S. and around the world. It's the most audacious, ambitious show we've ever attempted. And based on the work we've seen so far, it's destined to set a new standard for every show we do from now on.
If you're one of the lucky folks headed for Interbike this year, you'll be treated to an unprecedented show of bike-inspired poster artwork. Prepare your retinas and pack an extra suitcase, because you'll be coming home with at least one new work of art to brighten up your shop or office."

This the first
Zapatista character I ever painted. If memory serves me right, I did it in 1998 at our
Secret Headquarters high above Pico-Union:
My Mom found this hand-painted poster on a wall in Mexico, circa 2004:
I like how they changed the pencil in my original to a spray-can in their version. The random EZLNs and other handstyles are pretty cool too. I have no idea who made the poster... I guess that's how it should be.
Some more examples
here.

These are some of my favorite pieces from this weekend's
LA vs WAR event. I apologize for not catching the artists' names, but some are fairly self-explanatory.

Met this dude
Franz DG at the coffee shop after having spied him drawing some cool ish. Anyway, upon closer inspection, I saw some recognizable icons in the background of his sketch. I hit him up and started talking art, politics, graffiti, and coffee. Homie is way dope, draws comics, is mad involved in social justice causes, and is super talented.
(Thanks for the drawing man!)
