This is a video clip covering some of the madness that is Interbike. At about 1:49 you can peep some of the ARTCRANK artwork and a brief interview with the show's curator/creator Charles Youel. My piece is lurking in some of the shots... (Thanks for the heads up Erin!)
Met this dude Franz DG at the coffee shop after having spied him drawing some cool ish. Anyway, upon closer inspection, I saw some recognizable icons in the background of his sketch. I hit him up and started talking art, politics, graffiti, and coffee. Homie is way dope, draws comics, is mad involved in social justice causes, and is super talented. (Thanks for the drawing man!)

This upcoming documentary about the heroes that take matters into their own hands and make a giant mess trying to buff graffiti looks pretty interesting.
Back in the day, my dad took me to meet comic book artist Stan Sakai at a local comic book store, and I became a fan on the spot. He was signing autographs and making sketches along with another hero of mine, Sergio Aragones (of Groo the Wanderer and Mad Magazine fame.) I remember them being super cool and hooking me up with sketches of Usaji Yojimbo and Groo. Anyway...
...Flash forward to 2011: Rollin' around Little Tokyo here in L.A. tonight, LeHumanBeing and I stumbled upon an exhibit featuring Stan Sakai's work. The show has an extensive collection of everything from preliminary sketches to finished paintings, all centered around his iconic samurai rabbit Usagi Yojimbo. If you find yourself in L.A. between now and the end of October, definitely worth catching.

I was doing research for some random job that required stock imagery, and out of curiosity, I decided to search for Los Angeles Graffiti. I was surprised to see many familiar images pop up. I'm posting screen-grabs of some of the stuff I recognized. To see if any of your work is being sold, this here link is a good place to start.
From around midnight Friday until late Saturday, my website was down due (allegedly) to a power failure at my hosting company's server farm in Seattle. Hopefully it will be the last time this happens...
In full MCP voice: "****ica experienced a power event which caused the Seattle data center to go offline. At this time power has been restored, and we are working on bringing all devices back online into working order."
