Cache's been holdin' down this spot for a minute now, but after one too many unnecessary additions by persons unknown, we decided it was time for a face lift. Done with the quickness one sunny morning at the foot of some historic Echo Park steps... Word up!

Pre-order for what looks to be an astounding book out of England called MONOKROME is live now! I'm one of the contributing artists along with luminaries such as Kofie, Remi/Rough, Hush and Cute.
From the book's website: "MONOKROME brings together writers from all four corners of the globe with different styles, different views and different periods of time spent in graffiti. It creates an arena that is compelling for the veteran graffiti writer, the newcomer and the outsider alike... You'll see what you don't normally see; the work that happens before it gets to the wall, the work that builds upon what went before it, the work that bridges the gap between the old and the new. All in black and white..."
Print Magazine's blog Imprint just published an interview/article with/on graphic designer Rebecca Méndezand the current exhibitions at the Pasadena Museum of California Art. My piece for the Street Cred portion of their current program gets a cool 'lil shout.

I just got back from a long overdue bike ride and felt this song kinda fit...
Trembling Blue Stars - Half-Light
It looks so pretty as the light fails
Late November twilight
The day's about to close its shutters
On come all the street lights
And I feel a little less defined
Though the dying light can find me
Lost and feeling fragile
In the drifting there is beauty
I'll be a shadow for a short while
Sometimes you need to turn down the glare
It looks so pretty as the light fails
Faltering, departing
Stillness now resides in my sails
I'll surrender to the evening
The darkness will grow
And flow through my veins
I'll let it and let go of the reins
Let go of the reins
Let go of the reins
Let go of the reins

This past Saturday saw the public presentation of this piece designed by Tempt One at the Pasadena Museum of California Art. The making of the piece was an inspiring collaborative project, with assists by Angst, Defer, Eyeone, Prime, and Slick; sculpting by Jessee Clarkson of Nascent Perspective; and logistical support from the Not Impossible Foundation.
My nephew was amongst the many people who were very, very impressed by Tempt's piece. The ability to explore the sculpture allowed viewers to engage with and examine the letterforms from every angle. After carefully studying the letters, my nephew spelled out the T-E-M-P-T and, needless to say, I was super hyped!
I have a piece in the Street Cred exhibit currently on view at the Pasadena Museum of California Art.

A good friend of mine recently pointed me to the photography of Frédéric Chaubin and I was immediately blown away. His documentation of amazing former Soviet Union architecture seems like it was gathered in the future. Above are a few examples that particularly grabbed my attention. You can see more of his architectural photography from the USSR here. (Thanks King Tusk!)
