This is the archive for February 2012

I received a copy of Memoryhouse's new album today and it quickly carried up through the charts (at least for me.) Selecter rewind...

Memoryhouse - The Kids Were Wrong

Go to sleep, nothing's changing
I'll be right here by your side
Break the teens, colours fading
In the stillness of the night

You're thick-skinned, but it seems
You're hiding in daydreams
Can't find our way to the light
And when this routine ends, through nights and weekends
we'll see daylight through the blinds

Drifting in a cold state, the glowing cracks of old days
Bodies slack and pressed beneath the hour in your eyes
Fingernails and cold skin, your parent's bed we lay in
Arms outstretched to emptiness; the space you've left behind

Go to sleep, nothing's changing
I'll be right here by your side
Tear the seams, we're not aging
Beneath these trembling star-lit skies

You're thick-skinned, but you know
It's beyond our control
Shadows gleaming in our eyes
Been living a past dear, be free from those dull years
And we'll see daylight through the blinds

I wonder if any of L.A.'s trendy foodtrucks have this level of endorsement? Sayin'...

I threw this sketch up in the homie Franz DG's sketchbook the day I met him, sippin' on some caffeinated sizzurp... Word!

My homie Jason kicked me down with this 22" tall robot he made entirely out of cardstock and glue. Needless to say, I - along with the Jumbo Hugging Clique - were waaaay impressed. Thanks holmes! (Jumbo Pilot Marker for size reference only.)

These are two shots from my recently-initiated Instagram antics. I'm posting on there as -surprise,surprise - Eyeone_SH. It's cold as the morning dew and warm as saxophones and honey in the sun!

Kozem got down with the first issue of his zine Rent By The Hour. This is a small preview, but to see the whole thang and scoop up a copy, roll through the L.A. Zine Fest going down tomorrow.

Tempt One mural

A huge mural dedicated to Tempt got completed the first few days of May. A ton of people rolled through to paint, chat, and enjoy some good ol' graffiti. Still Top Notch!!!

• Peep some before, during, and after photos here.

They Came From The Streets

I customized this figure for a show put on by Urban Vinyl Daily in Cincinnati. The highlight for me was seeing their sick-a$$ promo video, which I'm re-posting above.

Eyeone x Unique L.A.

I got hit up to design a limited-edition tote-bag for Unique L.A. as part of their ongoing artist series. I was stoked with the result, and was able to use Cinta Adhesiva to boot! Hip-hop hooray!

Eyeone x Cache x Hold-Up Art

Cache and I linked up to throw up some characters on the columns outside of Hold Up Art, much to the amusement of walkers-by.

Street Cred at the Pasadena Museum of California Art

The Street Cred exhibit opened at the Pasadena Museum of California Art curated by Graffiti L.A. author Steve Grody. It featured some cool examples of the art made by memebrs of Los Angeles' graffiti community.

Cache invited me to contribute on this wall in Echo Park dedicated to one of his homegirls that had recently passed away.

I know I've been lagging on my 2011 year-in-review blogging but finally got around to wrapping up May...

Recap Pt.1 (Jan-Mar) is here.
Recap Pt. 2 (April) is here.
