I had to make up for yesterday by posting one of my all-time favorite role models doing one of my all-time favorite things: Mafalda by Quino. That's what's up!

Above: Lydia Hearst in Genlux magazine's Royal issue, Spring 2010.

(I had thought of clever titles for this post like: "Getting Busted for Tagging is The New Black" or "Gold Spray Paint by Vera Wang" and even "Douchey Fashion Mag Declares Vandalism Conviction The Must-Have Accesory This Season," but I decided to keep it neutral. Wordamercy!)

I've been following Lehumanbeing's blog for a minute now and thought I'd share this rad resource. Lehumanbeing has a precisely-tuned eye for illustration I dig, and always inspires by presenting work from artists I'd never heard of. Some of my faves, from top to bottom:

1. Girl and bike by Sergio Membrillas
2. Pelican by Bee Things
3. Sprint Finish by The Little Friends of Printmaking
4. Trick-or-treaters by Multiple Personality
5. Tandem bike by Retrowhale

More finds from Lehumanbeing here.

Awesome designer and all around International Man of Mystery Ian Lynam sent over a copy of his 'zine Liminal: An Examination of Graffiti in Tokyo. It was published in conjunction with a presentation for the Artalking series of lectures on contemporary aesthetics held in Roppongi.

"The bulk of graffiti in Tokyo is not highly decorative, multi-colored murals- pretty surface coatings with vaguely decipherable lettering. Graffiti in Tokyo tends toward "bombing" -tagging and throwups- the less 'painterly' aspects of graffiti," sez Lynam.

The 'zine features work by some of Tokyo's top street lettering and imaging troublemakers including Almond, Toms, Essu, QP, Sekt, Wanto, and others. |

The Small Stakes
Music Posters by Jason Munn

I received my copy of The Small Stakes book a few weeks back. I highly recommend you snatch one up for yourself. The book presents a comprehensive selection of Jason Munn's sharp design work for tons of bands you've probably heard of. Below are some of my favorites.

Detail of a new piece for the Laboratorios Margen Permanent Collection by Rene Cabrera. Thanks homie!

Remote blogging this classic anti-"vandalism" PSA I got off of Bates' blog.

(This one is a reworking of 98 per 100 which I had buffed and used as the foundation for my Here II remix...)

New acquisition for the Laboratorios Margen Permanent Collection. You can check out more of Asylm's work here.

Here are some shots from the Disaster Zine Heel Bruise release show. I was super stoked to see Lance Mountain's original art for shyat I'd seen only in print.

2. SEO by Skypage
3. SACE by Skypage
4. Suicidal Tendencies by Lance Mountain
5. Suicidal Skull by Lance Mountain
